WANANYUKI BOUNCE TO THE TOP

Wananyuki FC gained the top position of the FKF Division Two Northern Zone League Pool A after securing a hard won 1-0 away win against Borrusia Dortmund during a thrilling mid week clash played at Takaungu ground, Malindi this Wednesday. The match started on a high tempo with both teams searching for an early goal. The breakthrough came at  half an hours mark after lethal striker Heshima Said netted the lone goal from mouth melee. Borrusia Dortmund came back breathing fire in the second half in search for the equalizer but ended up firing blanks upfront. With the win Wananyuki have dislodged Young Bulls from the summit of the 23 team log. The Twahhir Yusuf coached side have a total of 19 points from 8 matches and two points ahead of Young Bulls. The Mwembe Kuku side has won 6 matches drawn one match and lost one match. Meanwhile Changamwe FC handed Young Bulls their first league defeat following a 2-1 home victory at Changamwe estate turf. The Changamwe aristocrats drew the first blood through their regular score Henry Sungu in the 18’th min. Henry Sungu was the master assassin again when the converted a spectacular penalty awarded in the 39’th min following an infringement inside the box. Young Bulls earned their consolation goal through Stephen Shungu in the 52’nd min. With the results Changamwe FC are placed fourth position with 14 points from 8 matches on level with third placed Kilifi All Stars who have a batter goal aggregate. In other mid week matched visiting Kilifi All Stars punished Mariakani FC 3-0 away at Mariakani Village Polytechnic, hosts Super Matuga caged Samburu Lions 3-2 at Kombani as Freretown spanked Bahari United 2-1 at Freretown.
